The ASECS Executive Board has asked Joseph Bartolomeo, Professor of English and Associate Dean of Operations and Planning at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, to become our Society’s Treasurer for a four-year term beginning 1 July 2020. I am pleased to announce that Joe has accepted our invitation. He is a seasoned administrator and long-standing member of our Society. The other members of the Board and I look forward to his wise counsel and astute financial management skills as we continue to strengthen the Society’s fiscal foundations.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Treasurer, Professor Jill Bradbury of Gallaudet University, for her outstanding service over the past two and a half years. Jill has devoted many hours to clarifying our endowment structure and evaluating our investment portfolio; the Society owes her a great debt.
I would also like to thank the other members of the Treasurer Search Committee who helped to bring this search to a successful conclusion: Lisa Berglund, our Executive Director, Jill Bradbury, and William Warner, our First Vice President.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey S. Ravel
