Beginning 1 July 2020, current members of ASECS will have free, unlimited access to Eighteenth-Century Collections Online (ECCO) for a period of three months, through 30 September 2020. ECCO is a premier online resource for scholars in many disciplines interested in the study of the eighteenth century. While the focus of the online collection is English-language materials, the database also contains eighteenth-century texts in other European languages, such as French, German, and Italian, that were printed in the United Kingdom in the period. It contains over 180,000 titles.
In order to access ECCO, join the Society or renew your membership at https://asecs.press.jhu.edu/membership/join. (Please allow one business day for processing.) Then, visit https://asecs.press.jhu.edu/membership/log-in-to-gale and enter your ASECS membership number and password.
ASECS is grateful to Gale / Cengage for partnering with us to make this resource available at a time when the libraries and archives on which we rely are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gale has prepared a voluntary, anonymous survey about ASECS members' use of ECCO during this free trial period. We encourage you to complete this survey once you have explored ECCO so that ASECS and Gale might assess the desirability and feasibility of continuing this relationship after the end of the trial period.
