Reminders & Upcoming Events

12 Sept. 2022

Dear colleagues,

It has been a busy couple weeks for ASECS! We have submissions to sessions for #ASECS2023 coming in every day, and so far we’ve had a smooth roll-out of our centralized submissions system. We had a good turn-out last week for our informational meeting on applying to ASECS, with great questions and suggestions. Thanks especially to Andrew Graciano, our Program Committee Chair, who helped us understand guidelines and offered advice to both chairs and submitters – see the video recording link below.

I’ve started meeting with ASECS Caucus Chairs, and plan to meet with other Caucus Chairs throughout the fall term. If you haven’t heard from me yet, I’ll reach out to you, or feel free to email me.

· Social media: Have you always wanted to interact more with ASECS members on social media but weren’t sure where to start? Every Saturday is #Caturday at @ASECSOffice Twitter! Post a photo of your favorite 18th-century feline, or show us how your cat is helping you with your research, teaching, or service!

Thanks to everyone for all you do – from chairing panels, to getting the word out about the conference, to suggesting creative ways to offer members year-round engagement with ASECS colleagues. As always, I’m an email, Zoom call, or phone call away. Contact me with questions, suggestions, and feedback – I’m grateful for it all.

Bien à vous,

Benita
